Rank anything by comparing two items at a time
Versus turns a list into a ranking through quick duels. Add your items, then pick the better of two, again and again: each answer is a duel, and a scoring method turns the duels into a ranking, with a gauge that shows when it is settled. It works for places, photos, products, names, colors, anything you can compare.
How it works
- Add your items: type or paste a list, drop photos, or pick colors and gradients.
- Pick the better of two in each duel, with a tap, the arrow keys or a swipe. Call a tie, skip a pair or undo.
- Read the ranking: a podium, a margin for each item and a comparison of the scoring methods show how solid it is.
Four scoring methods
Every method is recomputed from the same duels, so you can switch at any time without losing one.
- Balanced Bradley-Terry
- Recalculates everything from all duels at once, so their order doesn’t matter. Shows a margin of uncertainty for each item.
- Dynamic Elo
- Points change hands duel after duel, and recent duels weigh more. Useful if your taste evolves.
- Simple Win rate
- The share of duels won. Very readable, but ignores how strong the opponents were.
- Exact sort Insertion sort
- Places each item by binary search: the fewest duels possible and a guaranteed end. No ties or skips.
Private by default
Your rankings stay in your browser: no account, no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once installed. Versus is free and open source.
